Ghazi Attack
Introduction:
PNS Ghazi (previously USS Diablo
(SS-479); reporting name: Ghazi), SJ, was a Tench-class diesel-electric and the
first fast-attack submarine of Pakistan Navy (PN), leased from the United
States in 1963.
Ghazi Attack:
In 1971, during the period of
East Pakistan fighting for freedom to Bangladesh from Pakistan. To control over
East Pakistan, Ghazi has sent by Pakistan to destroy the INS Vikrant (the
biggest Aircraft carrier). During the time, the INS Vikrant is not ready for
attack due to some internal failures. The commander of INS Vikrant moved it to
Andaman Islands to secure from the attack, replaced with the INS Rajput. Indian
Navy has fooled spy with INS Rajput with heavy sonar signals that it was
INS Vikrant. When Ghazi came to Vishakhapatnam coastal area, came to know that it was not INS
Vikrant and placed water mines over the coastal area of Vishakhapatnam.
As per the Indian Records, Due to
some under water disturbance INS Rajput has released two charges into water and
destroyed Ghazi. Indian navy, credits to INS Rajput has made Ghazi sink.
As per the Pakistan Records, due
to some internal failures and explosions from inside of Ghazi caused sink or
detonation of its own mine.
Conclusion:
In records, no one has mentioned about S21 karanj Submarine during the Ghazi attack. Mystery need to be concluded.
